Argentina is a country in which bilingual education is highly valued and English language acquisition highly desired and yet there is nothing more common than the intermediate student who understands but cannot speak the language. Let’s call this the “fluency gap.”

Bilingual schools have lost their edge, no longer vested in a culture of English but instead opting for a focus on academics. English Institutes are struggling with student motivation and boredom in the face of slow progress, at best, in acquiring the English language.
